The Club has purchased a large projector screen and projector to help guest speakers if required and will be used at monthly meetings to highlight events and other important notices.
On behalf of the events co-ordinator, who could not attend the meeting, it was announced that tickets were available for the President’s Lunch to be held in lieu of the July Club Meeting.
It had previously been agreed that the Club’s Constitution was in need of updating. Members were invited to advise of any changes they felt appropriate for incorporation when they would be formally adopted at an EGM to be held immediately before the June Club Meeting.
This month’s victim for Donald Bone’s “This Is Your Life” was Paul Plant. Donald gave a humorous account of Paul’s working life and the activities he and his wife Anne have undertaken since his retirement.
It had previously been announced that a Probus Sunday Luncheon Group was to be formed. The uptake has been excellent and 25 Members, some with spouses, attended the first such lunch at the Legs of Man, Arclid on the 26th May. When consulted, Members agreed that different venues should be added for subsequent lunches. The next venue on August 18th will be the Badger Inn in Church Minshull.
Unfortunately, the guest speaker was unable to attend so Jim Thompson stepped in with one of his very professional quizzes.
